Action Bar of the Modeling Workbench

The action bar contains options that are specific for the current page. Options that are not available are disabled. The action bar contains the following items:

• Breadcrumbs - With this option you can keep track of your location within the Workbench.
• Create - Click here to create a new item. Depending on the context, this can be a module, or a help text
• - Click here to save unsaved changes to the current item.
• - Click here to delete the current item.
• - Click here to import modules into the current model.
• - Click here to export modules from the current model.
• - Click here to commit your changes.

Saving Content in the Modeling Workbench

If you have made changes on the current page, you can click to save those changes locally. Depending on the context, this will save your changes to:

• The activation tree
• A module
• An object type (extension) or base config
• Tables and fields
• Module transformations
• Help Texts

If you try to navigate to another page before saving your changes, a warning will be displayed.

Note: After saving your changes, you still need to commit the new model definition before it can be loaded into Angles for SAP.

Deleting Content in the Modeling Workbench

You can click to delete the item that is currently selected. Depending on the context, you can delete:

• A module
• A help text

If you click , a warning will be displayed. Click Delete to confirm that you really want to delete the item.

Deleting an object type (extension) or base config can be done directly in the editor on the Overview tab of the module that contains it.

Note: After deleting an item, you still need to commit the new model definition before it can be loaded into Angles for SAP.

Importing Content in the Modeling Workbench

In the action bar, click to import content into the current model. You can import the following:

• An ini file.
• A collection of ini files and help texts, contained in a zip file, for example, standard content.
• A txt file containing module activation information.
• A model definition.
• A model definition consists of standard content, customer content (optional), and activation information, bundled in a zip file.

The import process analyzes the input format and automatically adds the content to the selected model. After importing your content, you will be redirected to the activation page, where you can verify the result of your import. After you have successfully imported your content, you still need to commit your new model definition before it can be loaded into Angles for SAP.

Exporting Content in the Modeling Workbench

You can export a collection of one or more modules, their corresponding help texts, and activation information.

To export a model definition

1. Navigate to the activation tree.

2. Select the history tab in the details pane.

3. In the action bar, click to export content from the current model.

The export process exports the content as a set of ini and/or xml files in a zip file. This makes it possible to transfer content to another model in the Modeling Workbench, or to transfer it to another environment, for example, from QAS to production.

Committing Changes to the Modeling Workbench

If you have made changes to a model, you must commit them before they can be loaded into Angles for SAP.

To commit a model

1. In the action bar, click .
2. If you have unsaved changes, a warning appears. Click Save first to save the changes if you want to include them in your commit.
3. Click Commit to commit your changes.

After a successful commit, the committed version number is displayed.

Previous Commits

To see the previous commits for a model

1. In the navigation pane, click Modules .

2. In the navigation tree, select the model.

3. In the details pane, go to the History tab.

4. The details pane displays a list of previous commits.

   1. Click to view the merge log of a specific commit.

   2. Click to export a previous commit. To restore the model version from that commit, import the resulting zip and commit.
