Activation Tree

The activation tree is a tree representation of the modules within a model. You can use it to activate and deactivate modules. The activation tree is available in Modules navigation mode as a tab in the details pane. You can open the activation tree by clicking on a model name in the navigation tree. It shows an overview of the status of the modules in the model (5). Activating or deactivating a module determines whether the module will be included in the commit of the model.

Filtering Modules

There are several filters to assist you in finding specific modules:

  1. License labels - on the left-hand side of the activation tree, the list of license labels is displayed. If a label is selected, the modules it contains are included in the activation tree. Click a label to (de)select it.

  2. Expand/Collapse - click Expand all to expand all the visible modules in the activation tree. Click Collapse all to collapse all modules.

  3. Active/Inactive - click Active to only show the modules that are currently active. Similarly, click Inactive to only display the modules that are currently not active.

  4. Module search - enter a search term to search for all modules that contain your search term. The parent modules of found items are displayed in the results as well.

Updating the Activation Status of a Module

You can change the status of your modules in the activation tree.

To change the activation status of a module

  1. In the navigation pane, click Modules .

  2. In the navigation tree, click the model in which you want to change the module status. The available modules are displayed in the details pane.

  3. Next to each module, in the Activate column, a button represents the status of the module. Click it to switch between active WB_icon_module_active and not active WB_icon_module_not_active.

    Note:

A dialog box may open in the following cases:

    • If you activate a child element if the parent is not enabled.
    • If you deactivate a parent that has children enabled.
    • If you activate a module that has mandatory children.
    • If you activate a module that requires one or more other modules that are not enabled.
    • If you deactivate a module that is required by an enabled module.

You will see a message that explains how your current activation/deactivation will affect the tree. You can choose to confirm or cancel, which will either apply the specified changes or reverse the current action.

  4. After changing the status of the modules, save and commit your changes.
