Viewing Model History

The history of all committed versions of the model that you are viewing is available in the Modules navigation mode, as a tab in the details pane.

To open the history of a model

1. In the navigation pane, click Modules .

2. In the navigation tree , click on the model of which you want to see the history.

3. In the details pane , click on the History tab. Here you can see an overview of the history of your selected model.

On the history page, you can download previously committed versions, download the log for previously committed versions, and delete old or unused committed versions.

Downloading a Previous Model Version

When you commit your model, the state of the model and the merge log are saved. You can download a previously committed version of your model.

To download a previous version of your model

1. In the navigation pane, click Modules .

2. In the navigation tree , click on the model of which you want to see the history.

3. In the details pane , click on the History tab. Here you can see an overview of the history of your selected model.

4. Find the version of the model that you want to download in the list.

5. Click to download the model definition to your computer as a .zip file.

If you want to restore the downloaded version of the model, you can import the downloaded zip back into the Modeling Workbench.

Downloading the Log of a Previous Model Version

A merge log is available for each previously committed version of your model. You can download the merge log to inspect it.

To download the merge log of a previous version of your model

1. In the navigation pane, click Modules .

2. In the navigation tree , click on the model of which you want to see the history.

3. In the details pane , click on the History tab. Here you can see an overview of the history of your selected model.

4. In the list of previous versions, find the version of which you want to view the merge log.

5. Click to download the merge log to your computer as a .log file. You can view this file in a text editor.

Deleting a Previous Version of your Model

If you have many committed model versions, you might want to delete some of them to save hard disk space, or because they are not useful anymore.

To delete a previous version of your model

1. In the navigation pane, click Modules .

2. In the navigation tree , click on the model of which you want to see the history.

3. In the details pane , click on the History tab. Here you can see an overview of the history of your selected model.

4. In the list, select the checkbox in front of every committed model version that you want to delete.

5. Click and confirm that you want to delete all selected committed model versions.

   Caution: Deleting committed model versions cannot be undone.
