Creating an Angle
This functionality is only available if you have sufficient privileges. Your privileges are maintained by your system administrator in the IT Management Console.
If you are authorized to create an Angle , the following methods are available, based on your level of expertise:
Creating an Angle from the Activity Diagram - Use this method if you do not have much experience with creating Angles yet, or if you are looking for an answer to a common business question.
Creating an Angle from the Object Diagram - Use this method if you are familiar with creating Angles but cannot immediately recognize your business question in the Templates .
Creating an Angle from the Object List - Use this method if you are an expert in creating Angles . You understand the overview of all objects available in a Business Process without relations.
Creating an Angle from an existing Template - Use this method if you know the name of the Template that you want to base your Angle on. The Template will be executed that can then be adjusted and saved as another Angle.
After creating an Angle, you can customize the following Angle characteristics:
Creating an Angle from the Activity Diagram
To create an Angle from the Activity Diagram
On the Search page, click . A dialog box opens.

Click Continue next toSelect a Template Angle from the Activity Diagram to open the Activity Diagram. Alternatively, click on the image next to the title to open the Activity Diagram.

Select the business process tab that is relevant to your business question (see Business processes).
If you are creating an Angle from a non-SAP data source, select Other as the business process. See Platform Data Sharing for more information on using non-SAP data sources.
Find a Template that is closely related to your business question.
Click on a Template to see its description.
Click Create Angle to create an Angle from the selected Template. The Template is executed.
Click Save. The Angle is saved as a private Angle.
Creating an Angle from the Object Diagram
To create an Angle from the Object Diagram
On the Search page, click . A dialog box opens.

Click Continue next to Advanced: Select a TemplateAngle from the Object Diagram to open the Object Diagram. Alternatively, click on the image next to the title to open the Object Diagram.

Select the business process tab that is relevant to your business question (see Business processes).
If you are creating an Angle from a non-SAP data source, select Other as the business process. See Platform Data Sharing for more information on using non-SAP data sources.
Find an object type that is closely related to your business question.
Click on an object type to see its description.
Click Create Angle to create an Angle from the selected object type. The Template that is most closely related to that object type is executed.
Click Save. The Angle is saved as a private Angle.
Creating an Angle from the Object List
There are multiple ways to create an Angle.
To create an Angle from the Object List
On the Search page, click . A dialog box opens.

Click Continue next to Expert: Select an object from the Object List to open the Object List. Alternatively, click on the image next to the title to open the Object List.

Select the business process tabs that are relevant to your business question (see Business processes).
- Select a business process tab to view its description and the corresponding objects included in it.
- Select an item on the Other tab, if it is not part of the available Business Processes. You can link it to a business process of your choice while saving the Angle.
If you are creating an Angle from a non-SAP data source, select Other as the business process. See Platform Data Sharing for more information on using non-SAP data sources.

Select a start object in the list or use the Search field.
You can select multiple objects as the starting point for your Angle. Keep in mind that this might lead to unwanted results.
You can create an Angle that is not based on data that has been linked to an object by selecting Start with blank Angle. For example: selecting object Delivery Header and Start with blank Angle creates an Angle with only two columns: the ID and the object Delivery Header.

Click Create Angle. A new Angle is created based on the object you selected.
If you have selected Start with blank Angle in the previous step, no business process is selected for the new Angle.
Note: You must select at least one Business process before you can save the Angle.
Click Save. The Angle is saved as a private Angle.
Creating an Angle from an Existing Template
To create an Angle based on a Template
On the Search page, find the Template on which you want to base your Angle.
Execute the Template. The Template is opened as an Angle.
Click Save. The Angle is saved as a private Angle.
