Platform Data Sharing
Note: This feature is only available in the Angles for SAPCloud version 24.2 onwards.
Angles for SAP now supports the Platform Data Sharing feature. If your organization uses the insightsoftware platform, you can now integrate external data sources to your data model. All business Views configured in your AnglesProfessional account into your Angles for SAP account and create Angles based on them. To use this feature, you must have access to the Angles Professional application.
Set Unique Key
To configure external data sources in Angles for SAP, you must first assign any one of the fields from the business view as the unique key. In your Angles Professional account, do the following:
In the Home page, select Business Views.
Search for the business view that you want to add to Angles for SAP.
Open the relevant business view and select the Fields tab.
Click Set Unique Key. A dialog box appears.
In the Fields search bar, search for and select the field that you want to set as the key.
Click Save.
Configure Business Views
To configure the business views as Angles, do the following:
In Angles for SAP, go to the Modeling Workbench.
Go to Designer > Sources.
Click CONFIGURE PLATFORM BUSINESS VIEW.
Open the business view to be configured.
Check the boxes for the fields that need to be included in the Angle.
Click Submit. The business view is displayed as a source in the list on the Sources page.
Create an Object Type
After configuring a non-SAP business view as a source, you must create an Object Type based on it, before creating an Angle or a Report. To create an Object Type, do the following:
In the Modeling Workbench, go to Designer > Object Types.
Click Create Object Type.
Enter a name for the Object Type and description.
Select the source you just created. All the fields included in the source are displayed.
For the fields you want to include in the Angle, check the box in the Select column.
To add any of the fields to the ID column in your AngleDisplay, check the corresponding box in the Add to ID column.
In the Order ID fields section, use the arrows to specify the order for the ID fields. These fields show up in the first column of your AngleDisplay as ID.
Click Submit. The Object Type is now displayed as an Object Type in the list on the Object Types page.
Click Modules > [model name] to go to the model home page.
Click the Save icon.
Click Commit.
After the changes are commited, run a refresh cycle in the IT management console for the new Object Type to be available in the Web Client. To create an Angle based on this Object Type, select Other as the business process in Web Client.
Modify an Object Type
You can modify an Object Type to customize it to your requirements. The following modifications are possible:
Table joins: Join another table to the Object Type if you want to add fields from that table. You can also edit the existing table joins.
References: Create references to your Object Type if you want to create Up-Jumps. You can also edit the existing references
Sublists: Create sublists for your Object Type if you want to create Down-Jumps. You can also edit the existing sublists.
Edit a Source or an Object Type
To edit a source or an Object Type, do the following:
In the Modeling Workbench, go to Designer > Sources/Object Types.
Search for the source or Object Type to be edited.
Click the corresponding edit icon.

Make the desired changes and click Submit. You must save and commit your model and run a refresh cycle for the changes to be available.
Delete a Source or an Object Type
To delete a source or an Object Type, do the following:
In the Modeling Workbench, go to Designer > Sources/Object Types.
Search for the source or Object Type to be deleted.
Click the corresponding delete icon.
Click Submit. You must save and commit your model and run a refresh cycle for the changes to be available. If an Object Type is in use in a source, it cannot be deleted.
