General Tab of the Modeling Workbench

If you select a module, object type, or object type extension in the navigation pane, the details pane displays the module's details.

On the General tab, the following settings are displayed for the selected module:

  • Name: the name of the module.

    This field is mandatory. The value is used to identify the module within the model and should be unique. This field cannot be empty and it cannot be edited.

    You cannot use any of the following characters: \ / : * ? " < > | = %

    Additionally, you cannot use the following names:

    • com(n)
    • con
    • lpt(n)
    • prn
  • Parent: the parent of the module.

    This parent can be selected from the drop-down list. Selecting a parent is optional.

  • Description: a short description of the purpose of the module.

    This field is mandatory. The description is shown in the activation tree.

  • Extends: a module can extend another module.

    You can select the module that this module extends from the drop-down list. This is optional.

  • Extension type: optional, the extension type of the module.

  • Includes: a module can include another item.

    You can select the included module from the drop-down list. This is optional.

  • Required licenses: the license labels that are required to use this module.

    At least one of the labels must be enabled in the license to be able to use the module.

  • Requires: a module can require another module to function properly.

    You can select the required module from the drop-down list. This is optional.

  • Is Include: select this option if the module is included in another module.

  • Is Mandatory: select this option if the module is mandatory.

  • Comments: optional, additional information related to the module.
