Drilling Down

To take a closer look at the information contained in a specific record, you can drill down to that item (see Drilldown). Drilling down can be done in all Display types. Before starting this procedure, execute an Angle or a Dashboard and select the Display that you want to inspect.

Note: When you drill down in a Dashboard widget, all filters applied to the Dashboard will also be applied to the new Display that you are creating. A Yellow asterisk next to the new Display name indicates that it has not been saved. The corresponding filter, however, is not indicated with an asterisk because the filter has already been applied to your new Display.

To drill down to the content of a record

  1. Select the item that you want to focus on.

    • In a List, right-click on the item. A drop-down list appears. Select Drilldown to item.
    • In a Chart or Pivot, left-click on the item.

An ad hoc Display opens, showing more details about the selected item.

The type of the ad hoc Display depends on your Default drilldown Display settings (see Setting a default drilldown Display). By default, this is a Basic List. All settings of the selected Default drilldown Display will be applied when drilling down, except for filters and Jumps.

  2. To return to your original Display, use the Back button in your browser.
