Manage Privileges in a role

To manage the privileges of a role, you must edit the role. In the Edit role page, you can define privileges for the following:

To view or edit the user privileges, do the following:

  1. Navigate to ​Models > ​​​[Model name] > ​​​Roles​​.

  2. Click MC_Edit2 next to the role you want to edit, and select Edit. The role details are displayed.

  3. Select the required tab.

  4. Update the privileges as required.

  5. Click Save.

Check the Privileges of a Role

The Show consolidated role option offers a summary of the role. It shows the settings of a role and the total number of users affected by it. Optionally, click on the arrows to see more details.

To inspect the privileges of a role

  1. Click Edit icon next to the role you want to inspect.

  2. Select Show consolidated role. A dialog box opens, showing an overview of the model and system privileges and the number of users with that role.

  3. Click OK to close the consolidated role overview.

Access to Client Functionality

Basic

Login to Web Client

Defines if the user is allowed to log in on the Web Client.

Show non-validated items

Defines if the user is allowed to see non-validated items.

Export data

Defines if the user is allowed to export data. If you select Allow, you can specify the limit for the number of records to download in the spin box to the right.

Note that if a user has more than one role, or has a role with multiple subroles, the value of this setting is determined by the role or subrole that allows the smallest number of records to be exported.

Connect to AnglesGateway/OData (Pull)

Defines if the user is allowed to connect to AnglesGateway and Odata service. This privilege is only visible when AnglesGateway and Odata is licensed.

Advanced

Obtain more details

Defines if the user is allowed to obtain more details. If you select Deny, the user is not allowed to:

  • add or remove fields in any Display
  • add, remove, or update Filters
  • add or remove Jumps
  • drill down in any Display

If you select Deny, the user will also not be able to:

  • execute Jumps
  • create Angles

Drilldown to item in a List Display

Defines if the user is allowed to drill down to a single item, showing all the available fields.

Save Display

Defines if the user is allowed to save Displays.

If you select Deny, the user will consequently not be able to create Angles.

Execute Jump

Defines if the user is allowed to jump to references, sublists and process logic. If you select Deny, the user is not allowed to add or delete a Jump to Angles and Displays

If Obtain more details is set to Deny, it is not possible to select Allow for this setting.

Advanced filter search

Defines if the user is allowed to use advanced filter search functionality.

Contributor

Publish Dashboard

Defines if the user is allowed to publish Dashboards. If you select Deny, the user is not allowed to:

  • unpublish a public Dashboard
  • publish a private Dashboard
  • create a public Dashboard

The user is allowed to maintain a public Dashboard, and, for example, edit the description or change the widgets.

Create Angle

Defines if the user is allowed to create an Angle. If you select Deny, the user is not allowed to:

  • access TemplateAngles
  • create, update or delete an Angle

If Obtain more details and Save Display are set to Deny, this setting will automatically be set to Deny.

Create Template Angle

Defines if the user is allowed to create a TemplateAngle.

Administrator

Manage model

Defines if the user is allowed to manage the settings of this model in the IT Management Console.

Manage private items

Defines if the user is allowed to see and manage all private Angles, Templates and Dashboards of other users. This may be useful for application administrators and for training sessions.

Modeling Workbench

Content

Defines which content in the Modeling Workbench the user is allowed to edit.

If this option is set to Configure, users with this role:

  • may configure all restructure and template amendments

  • may configure tables and fields

  • may configure the activation tree

  • may not view or edit Standard Content or Customer Content

  • may not import or export Content files

  • may create and edit tables in the Designer Workbench

If this option is set to Edit, users with this role have full permission in the Modeling Workbench. In the Desinger Workbench, users with the Edit role are able to create, edit and delete configured tables.
