Inspecting the Committed Model

You can inspect a previously committed version of a model, and optionally compare it to another committed version of the same model.

To inspect a committed model

  1. In the navigation pane, select Committed Model mode. The details pane displays an overview of the committed model options.

  2. Select the Model of which you want to inspect a committed version.

  3. Select the Committed version nr. that you want to inspect. If you want to compare it to another version, select the other version under Compare to version nr..

  4. If you have selected two versions to compare, select Only show files with differences if you only want to include changed files in the navigation tree.

  5. Select the Filter options. Here you can specify what file types you are interested in. By default, the Help texts are not included.

  6. Click Build tree. The navigation pane is updated with the filtered navigation tree of the selected committed model.

  7. Use the navigation tree to navigate to the file that you want to inspect. The tree can be expanded to show the Objects, Transformations, and Help texts, depending on the filter options that you selected previously.

  8. Click on an item in the navigation tree to display its content in the content editor in the details pane. If you are comparing two model versions, the two versions will be displayed side-by-side. The Committed version nr. is displayed on the left, and the Compare to version nr. is displayed on the right.

Differences between the versions are highlighted in red when a text is present on the left, but not on the right, or green when a text is present on the right, but not on the left.

You can use the Command Palette to access all the available functionality of the content editor. To open the Command Palette, press F1 or right-click in the editor and select the Command Palette from the context menu. With the additional options in the Command Palette, you can, for example, jump to the next or previous difference if you are comparing two model versions.

Note: You cannot edit files in Committed Model mode.
