Feature Description
AI Search: Find Angles and Templates by Asking

Save hours of manual reviewing of data reports using Lineos AI. Ask Lineos AI what you need, get instant results ranked by business relevance. Find angles and templates in seconds. No special syntax. No field name memorization. Just plain language.

How It Works

Open the search page and toggle to AI Search at any time. Type what you're looking for in plain language, Lineos AI understands your intent, translates it into a search, and returns the most relevant angles and templates ranked by what matters most.

Natural Language, Zero Friction: Try "Show me items where stock status is blocked" or "Find angles related to SAP transaction VA03." No filter syntax. No exact naming rules. AI figures out where to look and what you mean.

Intelligent Ranking & Smart Suggestions: Results are ranked by exact name matches first, then by business relevance. Lineos AI also analyzes your results and suggests follow-up refinements ,"Filter by creation date?" "Include private templates?" to help you narrow down instantly.

Handles Edge Cases Like a Pro: Misspell something? Type a SAP transaction code instead of an angle name? Forget the exact field name? AI Search catches typos, translates transaction codes (VA03, MM02, etc.), and delivers results anyway. It's like having a search expert in your corner.

One Conversation, One Session

Start an AI Search, ask a question, get results. Then refine "Only show validated angles" or "Sort by when it was last created." Lineos AI remembers your entire conversation and builds on what you already asked. The conversation history persists as long as you stay in AI Search. Switch between classic search and AI Search anytime. Close AI Search? The conversation resets and you're back to classic search giving you complete control over how you work.

When to Use AI Search

  • Looking for an angle but not sure of the exact name describe what you need and AI Search finds it.
  • Want to filter by something specific (stock status, created date, owner) without remembering filter syntax.
  • Searching with minimal information an SAP transaction code, a vague description, or just a hunch about what exists in the system.
  • Iterating on results through conversation asking follow-ups and refining deeper without starting over from scratch.

Enabled by Default

AI Search is available to all users and enabled by default. Users can toggle it on or off in their User Settings at any time. Both classic search and AI Search remain side by side you choose which way works best for your workflow.

Your Data Stays Yours : AI Search does not share your company data, SAP records, or angle/display contents with external services. Only metadata and configuration information such as angle and display names, descriptions, and structure — are used by the AI to understand your search intent and rank results. All analysis happens within your secure environment.

Find what you're looking for in a Faster, Smarter way. Transforming raw SAP data into clear, actionable insights. Make smarter decisions faster without the manual analysis burden.

How It Works

Open an Angle Display and click the new AI Analysis tab in the left panel. You have two ways to get insights:

  • Start AI Summary for an instant overview of the entire dataset patterns, anomalies, cost-saving opportunities, and data quality issues all in one summary.
  • Ask Lineos: Type your own question directly, like "Show me the top 5 materials with blocked stock sorted by value" and get targeted analysis based on your specific request.

Lineos AI highlights patterns, suggests follow-up questions, and guides your investigation deeper. Better yet: as long as you stay within the Angle, the conversation history persists across all displays in that Angle. Switch between different displays while building on previous insights — no need to re-explain your focus. Once you navigate away from the Angle, the conversation resets.

Personalize to Your Role

Every analysis reflects your priorities through two levels of customization:

  • Set User AI Instructions in your settings for example, "Analyze data as a Supply Chain Manager focused on waste reduction" or "Always format summaries as tables." These apply automatically to every analysis you run.
  • Add Display AI Instructions to specific displays such as "Always rank materials by blocked stock value" on a procurement display. These are shared with colleagues using the same display, ensuring consistent analysis across your team.

Automated Intelligence That Arrives in Your Inbox

  • Schedule Lineos AI summaries to run daily, weekly, or monthly. AI-generated insights arrive in your inbox or in-app as part of an automated task, complete with a deep link that opens the display with the AI Analysis panel pre-loaded. No navigation required. Perfect for supply chain managers tracking KPIs, finance teams monitoring spend trends, or procurement teams staying on top of bottlenecks — all without lifting a finger.

Smart Data Awareness and Admin Control

  • Lineos AI is built for the real world. When you modify a display after an analysis adding columns, changing filters, refining scope Lineos AI detects the change and notifies you that the previous summary may be out of date, inviting you to refresh.
  • Administrators control access via Model Role privileges enable or disable the feature per user. Employees can also opt out in their user settings. Your data, your rules.

Transform insight into action instantly.

Feature Description
Search Page: Column sorting

Managing displays with many columns has been improved with multi-select support for column operations. Users can now select multiple column headers simultaneously using standard Ctrl+Click (individual toggle) or Shift+Click (range selection), with selected columns visually highlighted.

Once columns are selected, users can drag any one of the selected headers to a new position to reorder all selected columns together — maintaining their relative order — or drag to the "Drop here to remove this column" zone to delete all selected columns at once. Undo is supported for bulk operations.

Existing single-column drag-and-drop behavior is unchanged.

Search Page: Quick Filters interface enhancements

The Quick Filters button now displays an intuitive filter icon for clearer functionality. The dropdown menu dynamically sizes to fit your filter list without unnecessary scrollbars, and active filters are displayed in the button for instant visual feedback.
Angle History for Reporting: Guided Workflow from Pivot to Object Creation

Setting up Angle History Reporting now follows a streamlined, guided workflow that eliminates friction at each step. Start from your angle pivot and navigate directly through task management and automatic registration—no manual handoffs or duplicate work required.

Direct Navigation from Pivot — Click the Angle History task link in the pivot and navigate directly to the specific task in IT Management Console. No more searching through lists; the right task opens immediately in edit mode.

Automatic Model Source Registration — When you create and schedule an Angle History task, the table is automatically registered as a model source. The manual step in Designer Workbench is eliminated.

Bidirectional Deep Links — From the Angle History task in IT Management Console, a link shows the related pivot Angle Display. Click to return directly to that display—seamless navigation in both directions.

Clear Workflow Guidance — Updated helptext throughout the workflow clarifies each step and links to comprehensive documentation, keeping you on track from start to finish.

This guided flow shortens setup time and reduces the potential for configuration errors, letting you focus on configuring your object type and starting history tracking.

Angle History for Reporting: Table Automatically Registered as Model Source on Creation

When creating an Angle History table, the system now automatically registers it as a model source, eliminating the need to manually navigate to Designer Sources and submit the table. This streamlines the setup workflow, reduces configuration steps, and allows you to move directly to object type configuration immediately after scheduling the history task.
Angle History for Reporting: Post-save confirmation and Designer Workbench navigation

When saving Angle History scheduled tasks, a two-step confirmation workflow now guides you through data model source creation. After confirming the source is created, you can immediately navigate to Designer Workbench to create the related History Object—eliminating manual navigation steps.
Designer Workbench: Streamlined Table Selection When Creating Object Types

Creating a new Object Type now requires less effort to find and select the right source table. The table selection dialog has been improved to help you navigate large table lists more efficiently.

Filter by Table Group — Pre-select a table group to narrow the available tables before searching, making it faster to locate the correct table.

Wider Selection Area — Table names and descriptions are now fully visible without truncation, giving you complete information at a glance.

Expanded Results — Search results now display more entries at once, reducing scrolling and making browsing smoother.

AI System / Model Privileges: Clearer Data Privacy Labeling for AI Features

AI features now include clearer labeling to help you understand which features share display data with external AI models and which use only metadata. The system setting and model role privilege names have been updated to reflect this distinction, along with comprehensive helptext and links to security documentation.

System Setting Renamed — "Enable AI Features" is now "Enable AI Features that Use Display Data", making it explicit that this setting controls only data-sharing features like AI Display Analysis. Other AI features—AI Search, Angle & Display Descriptions, and Advanced Automation—continue to use metadata only and are not affected by this setting.

Privilege Renamed — The model role privilege "AI Display Summary" is now "AI Display Analysis" to better reflect its purpose and scope.

Enhanced Helptext — Updated system setting and privilege helptext now clearly distinguish between data-sharing and metadata-only AI features, with direct links to the AI Security Statement and ISO/IEC 42001 compliance information.

Backward Compatibility — Migration script ensures existing user privileges are handled correctly during upgrade, respecting your data privacy settings.

AI Display Analysis: Instructions character limit increased to 2500 with scrollable text input

The character limit for AI Display Instructions and AI User Instructions has been increased from 500 to 2500 characters, allowing users to provide more detailed and comprehensive prompts for improved AI analysis. A scrollable text input area and real-time character counter now provide better usability when working with longer instructions.
Lineos Doc Assist: Redesigned with New Panel & Repositioned Button

Lineos Doc Assist has been redesigned to improve your workflow. The fixed bottom-right pop-up has been replaced with a dedicated panel on the right side of your screen that stays visible as you work. Additionally, the Doc Assist button has been relocated to the Resource Center panel header, making it more discoverable and eliminating overlap with your angle and dashboard data.

End User - Fixes and Improvements

Feature Description
Angle History for Reporting: Non-breaking changes allowed for Angles used in History Reporting

An enhancement has been made to allow non-breaking changes to Angles used for History Reporting. Customers can now modify filters, search tags, descriptions, display names, and sort defaults without impacting existing history data. Breaking changes—such as adding or removing fields, changing field types or names, or modifying the object definition—remain blocked to preserve data integrity. This enables better maintenance and improvement of Angles while protecting accumulated history data.
Angle History for Reporting: Advanced Scheduling Options for Angle History Tasks
Advanced scheduling options have been extended to Angle History Tasks, bringing feature parity with Automation Tasks. Users can now configure sophisticated scheduling rules for Angle History execution, including first-of-month scheduling and other advanced scenarios. This provides greater scheduling flexibility for routine history creation and maintenance operations.
Angle History for Reporting: Support Currency Denomination Metadata

When creating Angle History tables from pivots containing currency values, the currency denomination metadata is now preserved. Users can create historical snapshots of financial data while maintaining the full context of currency information.

Key Capabilities

  • Select pivots with currency values (e.g., Material Value showing amounts in USD)
  • Create Angle History tables that retain currency denomination in the resulting Historical object
  • View historical data in Angle History Basic Lists with full currency context
Angles: Assign Template Angle to Custom Objects

What's New

Custom object users can now set any template angle as the default template for their custom classes directly in the Web Client. A simple workflow lets users mark an angle as the default template, with confirmation to prevent accidental overwrites.

How to Assign a Template

  1. Open an angle on a custom object in the Web Client and create your template angle
  2. Save the angle with the option "Set as template for custom class"
  3. Confirm the dialog to assign this template as the default for the class
  4. Any previous template assignment is automatically reset
  5. New angles created on that custom object will use the template fields by default

Key Benefits

Simplified Workflow – Set templates directly from the Web Client without visiting Designer Workbench
Consistent Experience – Custom and standard objects now have identical template assignment options
Time Saving – New angles auto-populate template fields, eliminating manual field selection

Designer Workbench: Add/Edit Description on Custom Objects (incl. AI Auto-Generate)

What's New

Custom objects in Angles for SAP now support descriptions, matching the functionality of standard SAP objects. Add, edit, or auto-generate descriptions directly in the Designer Workbench to improve clarity and usability across your custom object library.

How to Add a Description

  1. Go to Designer Workbench, select model, select object type, select Edit Helptext
  2. Enter your text with optional formatting (same options as Angle/Display descriptions)
  3. Save — or use AI Auto-Generate (available only when no description exists) to create one automatically
  4. Commit your changes — descriptions on custom objects become available after commit and refresh

Consistent Experience – Custom objects now behave like standard objects
AI Auto-Generation – Reduce manual documentation effort with automatic description creation
Better Discoverability – Clear descriptions help users understand object purpose and usage

Designer Workbench: Unified ID Field Selection & Ordering

What's New

Designer Workbench object type creation is now faster and more intuitive. ID field selection and ordering are consolidated into a single interface, eliminating the need for separate panels.

Key Capabilities

  • Select and order ID fields in one place with an Order column featuring up/down arrows—no separate "Order ID fields" panel
  • Pin ID fields to the top of the grid with "Add to ID"; they auto-lock to prevent accidental removal
  • Custom ID field order is preserved when adding or removing fields; new fields append to the bottom
  • View ID order inline (read-only) on the Edit Object Type screen
  • Non-blocking ID uniqueness warning alerts you when time/date fields aren't included in your ID, preventing duplicate records
  • Submit confirmation dialog displays your complete configuration before saving
Calculated Fields : Validation Enforced

Previously, users could save invalid Calculated Fields by closing the editor with the close button (X) and selecting "Save" in the popup, bypassing validation checks. This has been fixed—validation is now consistently enforced across all save paths, preventing invalid Calculated Fields from being saved and causing downstream calculation errors. Users now see clear error messages and cannot proceed until the issue is resolved.
EA4IT: Automation Task URL Field added to Action History And Recipient Details Object

A new URL field has been added to EA4IT for direct navigation to the IT Management Console: Automation Task URL. The Automation Task URL field is available in the Action History And Recipient Details Object , enabling quick access to automation task definitions without manual searching. Clicking the link opens the corresponding Automation Task directly in edit mode in ITMC in a new browser tab, allowing administrators to investigate and correct issues efficiently. This navigation pattern mirrors the existing Angle URL and Display URL fields in EA4IT.
EA4IT: Display calculated fields in 'Fields per Display' object

Calculated fields are now available in the EA4IT 'Fields per Display' object. You can view calculated field metadata including Field Text ID, Field Name, Short Name, Field Category, and Field Type, as well as access calculated field definitions in the Technical Information field. A new 'Calculated Field' indicator field distinguishes calculated fields from standard model fields (true for calculated, false for standard). A new pre-built 'Calculated Fields' display template provides quick insight into all available calculated fields and their definitions.
EA4IT: Display Execution Count field added to EA4IT Displays and Angles objects

A new Execution Count field has been added to the Displays and Angles objects in the EA4IT model. This field shows the total number of times a display has been executed since its creation, with a default value of 0 for displays that have never been executed. Use this field combined with display creation date to identify unused displays and assess cleanup potential. Displays with zero or very low execution counts may be candidates for retirement, helping you maintain a lean and efficient display portfolio.
EA4IT: Filter Value Count Per Operator Field Added to Filters and Jumps Object

Administrators and performance analysts can now quickly identify display filters with excessive values using the new "Total Filter Value Count Per Operator Per Step ID" field in the EA4IT Filters and Jumps object.

Counts distinct filter values per operator within each query Step ID
Queryable and filterable in angle history reporting and EA4IT analytics
Supports all standard filter operators (Contains Substrings, Matches Pattern, Equals, Contains, etc.)
Enables identification of filters exceeding performance thresholds for optimization

EA4IT: Include AI Summary Field & # Actions per User per Datastore Template

What's New

A new "Include AI Summary" field has been added to the Automation Task Actions object, allowing users to control whether AI-generated summaries appear in analysis outputs. A corresponding "# Actions per User per Datastore" display template enables admins to view action distribution across all datastores, including the AI Summary datastore.

EA4IT: New Description Language fields for angles and displays visibility

New Angle Description Language and Display Description Language fields have been added to the EA4IT model in the objects Angles and Displays to provide administrators with visibility into which languages have maintained descriptions. These fields automatically display available language translations (e.g., "English, Dutch, German, Spanish"); when blank, no descriptions are available in any language. A new display has also been added to both the template Angles and template Displays to provide immediate insight into the available languages for each angle and display, with published and shared angles and displays taking priority for language maintenance updates.

Maintaining descriptions in multiple languages significantly improves findability for users searching in their preferred language. To create descriptions in different languages, use the Add AI Description feature in the Angle/Display description popup, or enable the user setting ‘Generate AI Description on Angle/Display Save’ to automatically create AI descriptions in your user language whenever you save an angle or display.

PM: Measuring point values now match SAP display Measuring Point Display

The measuring point values for Upper Range Limit, Lower Range Limit, and Target Value now correctly match what you see in SAP tcode IK03. Temperature values are properly converted and displayed in their respective units (Celsius or Fahrenheit) instead of raw Kelvin values.
User Settings: Currency dropdown sorted alphanumerically

The currency dropdown in User Settings previously displayed available currency codes in an unsorted order, requiring users to scroll through an unordered list to find their desired currency. This was particularly cumbersome for users working with less common currencies. The currency dropdown now displays all available currency codes sorted in alphanumerical ascending order (A–Z), making it significantly easier to locate and select the preferred currency.
[05624969] Exports: Fixed Slow Excel Export and Duplicate Rows for Schedule Line Drilldowns Excel exports for Sales Document Schedule Line drilldowns now complete in reasonable time and without generating duplicate rows. The exported row count now matches the items displayed in the Angle, restoring reliable export performance.
AI Display Analysis: Field Formatting Now Respects Display Configuration

AI Display Analysis now respects field formatting configured in your displays. Entities (plants, cost centers, accounts, etc.) appear in AI responses using the same format—short name, long name, or combined—as configured in the source display, ensuring consistency between AI insights and displayed data.
AI Display Analysis: Fixed Inconsistent Color Formatting in Visualizations AI Display Analysis now consistently formats color-coded visualizations correctly. Previously, some responses displayed STML color code markup instead of rendered colors. This fix ensures predictable, reliable output when creating color-coded visualizations with AI Display Analysis.
Angle History for Reporting: Day selection in Automated Task now shows correct visual state

Fixed an issue where Day selection boxes in the Angle History Task editor did not visually indicate which days were selected. Selected days are now highlighted consistently with the behavior in regular Automation Tasks, preventing confusion during task configuration.
Angle Search: Filters Now Retained When Navigating Back

When navigating back to the Angle Search page from Angle Execution using the left sidebar button, filter settings were previously lost, requiring users to reapply them. This created an inconsistency with the top navigation path, which correctly retained filters. Filters are now consistently retained regardless of which navigation method you use, improving workflow efficiency and eliminating confusion about the correct navigation path.
Angles: Fixed Edit Display Link Dialog Reliability

The Edit Display Link dialog now opens reliably when editing from the Quick Link warning pop-up. Improved error handling and automatic retries ensure the dialog loads correctly on the first attempt.
Calculated Fields: ISLIKE Function Now Supports Special Characters

The ISLIKE function in Calculated Fields now correctly handles special characters (accents, diacritics, umlauts) in pattern matching. Multilingual data filtering with ISLIKE is now fully supported.
Calculated Fields: LEN() Function Now Returns Numeric Values

The LEN() function in calculated fields now returns numeric values instead of text, enabling arithmetic operations and nesting with other functions. Existing displays using LEN() have been automatically migrated during upgrade
Charts: Added "(Shown in UC)" Label for User Currency Converted Fields

Currency fields in charts now display the "(Shown in UC)" label when the User Currency setting is enabled, making it clear that values are converted to user currency. This matches the consistent behavior already shown in List displays.
Designer Workbench: Fixed Refresh Failure When Referencing Custom Objects Without Key Fields

Designer Workbench now validates required key fields when creating references to custom objects. Attempting to commit a reference without specifying the required key fields is now blocked, preventing subsequent refresh failures.
EA4IT: Corrected Display Description Formatting to Match Standard Conventions

Display descriptions for EA4IT model templates now follow the standard formatting conventions, ensuring consistent visual presentation across all model types.
EA4IT: Fixed Inconsistent Filter Results for Execution Count

Filtering EA4IT objects by "Execution Count > 100" now returns consistent results across the angle view and advanced search. Dashboards and unlabeled angles are now properly included in advanced search results.
Filters: Timestamp filter validation is now consistent for execution-time filters

An issue has been resolved where Timestamp field filters defined via 'Set value when the display is executed' were not validated consistently with display-defined filters. Previously, when users left the time portion blank on an execution-time filter, no validation warning was shown and the filter would silently fail to apply. Filter validation on Timestamp fields now behaves consistently in both cases, ensuring users receive appropriate feedback and filters are applied as intended.
Pivots: Fixed Column Header Misalignment in Pivot Field Selector After Resize

Column headers in the Pivot Field Selector now remain properly aligned after resizing columns. This fix aligns the Pivot Field Selector behavior with List and Graph display field selectors.
Pivots: Sorting on % of Row Count Now Sorts Correctly

When sorting a Pivot display on the % of Row Count column — with Totals enabled for rows and columns and Percentage set to On Row — the results were sorted by absolute Count instead of the actual percentage value. This caused misleading comparisons: for example, a category with 100 out of 10,000 records (1%) would incorrectly rank above one with 1 out of 2 records (50%). Sorting on % of Row Count now correctly orders rows by their percentage value. Users can trust that relative performance comparisons in Pivot displays reflect true proportional ranking, enabling accurate business conclusions across any object and configuration.
