Scheduling Angles
This functionality is only available if you have sufficient privileges. Your privileges are maintained by your system administrator in the IT Management Console.
You can schedule Angles using automation tasks if you have sufficient privileges. An automation task is a task that performs all linked actions at a designated time/event. If you want to perform a certain action on a regular basis, it can be added to an automation task.
Examples of automation tasks are:
- sending an email alert when an Angle is executed
- exporting an Angle to a certain format such as CSV, Excel and HTML
Note: Users with the manage_system privilege can create automation tasks in the IT Management Console. Users with the schedule_angles privilege can schedule Angles as actions on all existing automation tasks in the Web Client. They can create, edit, and delete these actions.
To schedule an Angle
Execute the Angle (see Executing an Angle or Template ). The Angle results page opens.
Find the Display in the Displays pane . If there are many Displays, the Display tab of the Display might not be immediately visible. In that case, click to see the list of available Displays and find your Display there.
Click . A dialog box opens.
-
Select the task you want to link the Angle to and click OK. The Add action dialog box in the IT Management Console opens in a new window.
Note: The list of tasks corresponds with those defined in the IT Management Console.
Specify the action settings and click Check action to see if the data is correct.
Make any necessary changes and click OK. The action is added to the task, which will run at the designated time/event.
Click Save to save the task with this new action.
Tip: If an automation task does not work properly anymore, the linked Angle may have been edited.
