Suggested Fields for an Object

There are thousands of fields available for use in Angles. Suggested fields allows you to make a preselection of the most relevant fields for various objects in order to help Angles for SAP users choose. The suggested fields you set here will be visible for users to select or deselect from their Angles and Displays.

You can manage the suggested fields for objects in the IT Management Console. Navigate to ​Models > ​​​[Model name] > ​​​Suggested fields​ to do this.

Setting Fields

There are four ways to set suggested fields for objects:

• Set suggested fields for single object. This option sets the suggested fields for a single object. Individual fields can be selected and set to suggested fields for any chosen object.

  To set suggested fields for a single object

  1. Click Set fields. The object list opens.
  2. Select the object for which you wish to clear all suggested fields.

  3. Click Continue.

     The Field Chooser window opens. In this list you can select the suggested fields with the suggested field marker. Marking the field will turn the marker green.

  4. Click Save.

• Set default Basic List fields to suggested. The default Template creates a Basic List Display when a new Angle is created by selecting an object from the object list. By selecting this option for one or more objects the suggested fields are limited to all fields present in this default Basic List of that object.

  To set default Basic List fields to suggested

  1. Click Set fields. The object list opens.
  2. Select the object(s) for which you wish to clear all suggested fields, or click Select all to clear all suggested fields at once.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Click Save.

• Set all default Template fields to suggested. The default Template creates a number of default Displays and Filters when creating a new Angle by selecting an object from the object list. By selecting this option for one or more objects the suggested fields are limited to all fields present in these default Displays and Filters of that object.

  To set all default Template fields to suggested

  1. Click Set fields. The object list opens.
  2. Select the object(s) for which you wish to set all default Template items to suggested.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Click Save.

• Set all Template fields to suggested. All existing Templates contain multiple Displays and Filters. By selecting this option for one or more objects the suggested fields are limited to all fields used in any related Template for that object.

  To set all Template fields to suggested

  1. Click Set fields. The object list opens.
  2. Select the object(s) for which you want to set all Template items to suggested.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Click Save.

Clearing Fields

To clear all suggested fields for one or more objects

1. Click Set fields. The object list opens.

2. Select the object(s) for which you wish to clear all suggested fields, or click Select all to clear all suggested fields at once.

3. Click Continue.

4. Click Save.
