Personalize an Angle

Note:

This functionality is only available if you have sufficient privileges. Your privileges are maintained by your system administrator in the IT Management Console .

You can personalize your Angles by adding your own name and description. You can also add a personal note to an Angle

To change the name and description of an Angle

  1. Execute the Angle (see Executing an Angle or Template ). The Angle results page opens.

  2. There are three methods to open the Angle description :

    • On the Details pane (Dashboard) , on the the Dashboard tab , click in the Description section.

    • At the top of the Details pane, click next to the Dashboard name .

    • Click next to the Dashboard name in the breadcrumbs of the Action bar .

    The Dashboard description dialog box opens.

  3. Depending on your permissions, you can edit the following Dashboard characteristics:

    • ID - By default, every Angles for SAP item gets a unique, random ID. You can change this ID to a more human-readable phrase if you are authorized to do so.
    • Languages - You can make a Dashboard available in multiple languages by adding them here. A Dashboard must have a name and a description in the additional language.
    • Name - It is important to give your Dashboard a clear and concise name. This makes it easier to identify at a glance what the Dashboard is about .
    • Description - Add a clear description of the data that the Dashboard uses and what it presents to the viewer.
  4. Click Save to save the Angle description.

    Note: If you edit an Angle that is linked to an automation task, you will get a confirmation prompt to indicate this. If you have edited one of the Displays in the Angle, the confirmation dialog box will list all changed Displays. Deselect a Display if you do not want to save the changes you made. If you have sufficient privileges, click to open the corresponding automation task in the IT Management Console.

    Only save your changes if you are aware of their impact. Changing an Angle that is linked to an automation task may cause the automation task to fail.

Adding a Personal Note to an Angle

A personal note is a description that you can add to an Angle. The content of the personal note is taken into account when you search in Angles for SAP.

Note:

You cannot add a personal note to a private Dashboard that is owned by another user.

To add a personal note

  1. Execute the Angle. The Dashboard results page opens.

  2. In the Details pane (Dashboard) , click the Dashboard tab.

  3. Enter your note under Personal note. The personal note is saved automatically.
