Overview tab of a Module

If you select an item in the navigation tree in Modules mode, the details pane displays the item details. One of the available tabs in the details pane is the Overview tab.

On the Overview tab, you can inspect the entire model definition of a module, and, depending on the type of item that you have selected, edit it directly. The overview includes all module information corresponding to the item, except moduleinfo and transformations. If you select an object type (extension) or base config in the navigation tree, the model definition of the module that contains it is displayed, focused on the first line of the selected item.

On the Overview tab, you can do the following:

  • If you have selected a module in the navigation tree, you can edit the content of that module directly. If you create or delete an object type (extension) or base config here, the navigation tree will be updated to reflect the new structure after you save your changes. See The content editor for more information about the editor's features.

  • If you have selected an object type (extension) or base config in the navigation tree, you can inspect the item in its context in the module.
  • You can navigate to the corresponding help text to edit it.

The Overview tab opens by default if you select an object type (extension) or base config. The focus of the Overview tab is on the item that is selected in the navigation tree. From there, you can scroll through its context within the module.

Navigating to a Help Text

If you select a module, object type, or object type extension in the navigation tree, you can navigate to its corresponding help text directly from the Overview tab on the details pane .

To navigate to a help text from the Overview tab

  1. Select the help text ID in the editor.

  2. Right-click the selection. A menu opens.

  3. Click Go to help text. If found, the help text is opened in a new browser tab or window (depending on your browser settings) and you can edit the help text details.
